WATER CONSERVATION ORDER
in effect MAY 21 to May 29
The Village of Carbon (and Kneehill County) is on a strict water conservation order due to a line repair being made to the Aqua 7 Regional Water Line just east of Carbon. Costs of hauling water to re-fill our reserviour will be covered by tax payer dollars, please do your best to conserve during this time to cut down on these costs. Thank you for your cooperation!!
The Village in the Valley evolved in the 1890’s as ranchers pushed into the district. It incorporated in 1912 as a village when the Knee Hill Coal Mines flourished. Today, Carbon is a vibrant community of 590 residents and growing. It lies in the belt of the Canadian Badlands, just 40 kilometers West of Drumheller and one hour from the Calgary airport.
