TRAPPERS COURSE IN CARBON

The Village of Carbon is offering a Trappers Course at the Carbon Community Centre on November 5 – 7, 2021 starting at 9:00am each day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Trappers Course is being held due to the overpopulation of beavers in the Village of Carbon (and surrounding area) and the extensive environmental damages and destruction they are causing that is making it unsafe for residents and their pets.
The Village of Carbon Council decided that it would be beneficial to have local trappers available to deal with the population control of the beavers. We are currently looking for 2 individuals that are willing to take the course at no charge, and in return, become the designated Village Trappers. Other reasons for local trappers is the cost associated with hiring an independent trapper and the tampering of existing traps when set. The cost of the course for 10 trappers is equivalent to the same cost as having an independent trapper come to Carbon for one season.
Please note that the Trappers Course is not limited to just beavers and the course covers material beyond just trapping.
If you are interested, please contact the Village Office at (403) 572-3244 for an application form or visit www.albertrappers.com for more information.
