Chili Cook-off Fundraiser – Hall

April 30, 2022 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
The Carbon Community Centre is 60+ years old, and over its time, the building has hosted many events! Weddings, sports days, birthday & Christmas parties, baby showers, dinner comedy shows, plays, musical events, fashion shows, graduations, fundraisers, educational events, Discovery Night, funerals, and the list carries on.
The Community Hall also houses the Library, Seniors Centre, and Carbon Lions Club meetings.
Sadly, due to Covid-19, our casino has been pushed back, not once, but twice. Unfortunately, also due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Community Centre was forced to close its doors and was unable to host functions and collect revenue. With little to no income, a further detriment over the past year was the significant increase in utilities, and repairs to both the east and west furnaces, as well as the AC unit.
We are hosting a Chili Fundraiser event in hopes to raise the necessary funds to keep our doors open until our next casino with a date that is still to be determined. It could potentially be scheduled anytime over the next 2 years. If enough funds are not raised during this fundraiser, the hall may be forced to shut its doors as early as August of this year.
The Carbon Community Centre needs your help!
We are inviting everyone in Carbon to attend our chili challenge on April 30th between 11 AM and 2 PM in front of the hall!
